Xbox Ventilation

Xbox Ventilation – The key to a Happy Xbox

The question is how to keep your xbox happy & contented, so you can play it like a maniac, as much as you want?

The answer is xbox Ventilation.

Your xbox is nearly as dependent on clean cool air as it is electricity, and most people do exactly the opposite of what the xbox needs.
This is not like your Wii or PS3; it cannot live on a small shelf in a typical TV / entertainment centre, its power lead cannot happily curl up with all the other power cables, on the floor behind the TV.

And without trying to scare you, turn the xbox off at the WALL socket when finished playing (Microsoft have been successfully sued for fire damage associated with the xbox power lead – luckily no one was hurt).

So when playing your xbox, release it from the confines of any cabinet, don’t put it near heat sources, or on carpet or soft furniture, and do the same for the power brick.

The best xbox ventilation tip is to create a stand for your xbox, the safest position for the xbox is horizontal (vertical gets the vents up high, but if knocked over can damage the unit or disc inside), 4 inches plus off the ground, with clear passage for the air vents.

The following video shows you how to make a simple xbox ventilation stand to allow the air to circulate. Though this looks really basic, it works so well, and cost nothing. You can use pretty much anything to make it out of, doesn’t have to be plastic, could be wood, board, metal, aluminum, whatever happens to be around.

If you’re a marathon gamer, pointing a fan at it will also help.

May you’re xbox live long and prosper.

Richard.
